Hello, this is Justus Brubaker here, David’s brother. Today I am going to talk about one of the jobs I am working at right now and why we spread clover before the wheat is harvested. One reason is so that the clover gets taller sooner than if it was planted after the wheat was harvested. The reason we want it to be taller sooner is so we can graze it sooner. Also, the reason we do it in the winter is so that the freezing and thawing of the ground helps the seed to work into the soil, helping it to sprout. And last of all so that our customers’ can have better grass finished beef.
